There are plenty of summer sports activities to
experience in the Giffre valley. For mountain
walking enthusiasts there is the GR 5
trans-Europe trail which starts 2km from the
apartment. There are numerous mountain refuges
and gîtes to discover and there are lifts open
to take you up into the mountains to experience
mountain biking and rock climbing.

The area is really popular with paragliders. The
paragliding takes place in the resort and is a
marvellous experience should you be so brave!
Other activities which are popular in the resort
include; canyonning, potholing, via-ferrata,
white-water rafting, mini-golf, and there is a
driving range. It is the largest potholing area
in Europe and an introductory course available.
Samoens is also a major centre for hang-gliding,
with scenic flights by helicopter and hot air
balloons also available . Guides, tuition and
hire equipment are available in the village for
all of these activities.The huge Indiana Parc provides an adventure
assault course, Lake with driving range,
restaurant and children's play park. There is
also a skate and bike park here along with
several tennis courts. |

Next to the Indiana Parc is the swimming pool
complex which comprises of a laned pool, fun
pool with slide and dedicated under 6’s toddler
pool. The pool complex is set in the centre of
the resort in parkland with picnic tables and a
poolside restaurant.
Summer daytime temperatures are idyllic and
average over 20 Celsius in June and over 30
Celsius in July/August.
The village is a real working (farming)
community with a Wednesday market and visitors
can enjoy Savoyard traditions. The beautiful
restaurants in and around the Samoens area serve
a fine array of gourmet, traditional and local
dishes. At the height of the summer there is
daily entertainment in the centre of Samoens
including puppet shows, local crafts displays,
bands and singers and amateur dramatics.
